Born on May 21st, 24 years ago, the Gemini woman gives her name as Dineo Baruti. A staunch believer in horoscopes, Baruti says her faith in the stars deepened after her star read that greater things were due in her career path that week one Monday.
“I was called for an interview the following day, passed it and I got the job,” she says enthusiastically.
Baruti is believes her sign is a great insight into her daily life, constantly reminding her of the talents and special qualities she possesses. She says at the beginning of this year, she looked at her annual star overview:
“In 2009, you dare to look deeply into your desires, regenerate self-awareness and recognise psychological ambiguities,” it said. “This will bring balance into your home and family life. Pay attention to the details as you bring your inner and outer life into harmony. And be sure to enjoy the changes occurring within you. Baruti believes the stars are a source of inspiration because when her sign tells something negative, she tries by all means to prevent it from happening. Asked whether she can go a day without reading her star, she likens the ‘anomaly’ to a convert skipping Morning Prayer. The Internet is where she reads her daily barometer, but when she cannot access the Internet, she resorts to newspapers that feature horoscopes.
Baruti is one of millions of people worldwide who check their horoscopes daily. Another is Elizabeth Moithoki, who compares horoscopes to Biblical prophecy. Though they are not always reliable, she says, they do give an overview of her daily life. She is a Leo, and believes that confidence, ambition, generosity and loyalty are her key strengths. On the other hand, being pretentious, domineering, melodramatic, stubborn and vain are her keywords for weakness.
