Vedic astrology is a great way to learn about the inner workings of life. You can learn a lot about yourself by simply taking the time to study it. To understand Vedic astrology, you must first learn the most basic yet most important aspect: the 12 houses which govern human life.
The first house is called Lagna, or the House of Self. Out of all the houses found in Vedic astrology, this house is the most important as it deals personally with the individual. In this house you will be able to find the physical aspects of the individual, such as the body type, stature, and complexion. It also deals with impulses and views in life. Longevity will be seen in this house.
The House of Wealth is the second house. It deals with all the financial and material matters of the individual. Also known as the Maraka Sthana, it is also known to affect various physical attributes such as the tongue, eyes, nose, and teeth.

The date of birth and natal chart determines the sign of the individual. All of these astrology signs are based on the four basic elements: earth, water, air and fire.
The first sign in astrology is Aries the ram. It is a fire sign, generally considered to be masculine because its nature. Because they come in first at the chart, Arians are usually childlike. Also, they are confident, competitive and straight to the point. Rule by the planet Mars which symbolizes war, destruction and also symbolizes power.
Taurus is the second star sign. It is ruled by Venus, the planet of beauty. Because Taurus is an earth sign, individuals born under this sign are very dependable and stable. Represented by the bull, they can be very hard to stop once they set their minds to something.
